Sharks at Cowley

Forty five miles north of Williamsport, PA lies the tiny hamlet of Cowley, PA. Northbound trains fight a steady grade from just above Williamsport to Granville Summit less than a mile away from Cowley. The three Baldwin shark nosed diesels shown here will soon be notching back as they descend the grade to Troy, PA. Long gone are Pennsy decapods that handled this chore for decades as this 1960s era scene depicts.

EC-92 at Tin Bridge

In this mid-1950s scene, L-1 Mikado No. 2369 was a regular engine on this run. Because EC-92 switched several industries in route they usually placed a cabin car behind the engine for the head end brakeman.
